Educational Qualifications

Prospective students intending to enrol in the basic nursing/midwifery course at Soarstar College of Nursing Sciences must meet specific educational standards. These qualifications are fundamental, ensuring that students possess the academic readiness to engage effectively with our challenging curriculum.

Academic Performance

It is required that these credits are attained within a maximum of two sittings. This criterion aims to demonstrate candidates' consistent academic proficiency across multiple examination sessions.

Subject Requirements

To be considered for admission, applicants must have achieved five (5) credits in particular subjects, which include:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Three (3) Other Credits in Sciences: Additionally, candidates must attain credits in three science subjects: Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
These subjects constitute the essential scientific knowledge base necessary for comprehending human anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical interventions.

NABTEB Certificates

Alongside traditional academic qualifications, candidates may submit certificates from the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB). However, there are specific conditions for the acceptance of NABTEB certificates:

  • Single Sitting Requirement: NABTEB certificates must be obtained in a single sitting.
  • Non-Combination Policy: Furthermore, NABTEB certificates cannot be combined with any other certificates.
