Department of Basic Nursing
Welcome to the Department of Basic Nursing at Soarstar College of Nursing Sciences. Our department is committed to providing comprehensive education and training in the foundational principles of nursing practice. Through innovative curriculum, hands-on learning experiences, and dedicated faculty guidance, we prepare students for successful careers in the nursing profession.
Our Basic General Nursing Program
This is a three-year(3-year), six-semester Basic Nursing program approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). At the end of this 3-year program, our students will be awarded Diploma qualification in General Nursing (Registered Nurse) by The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Furthermore, upon graduation students will be licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria to practice Nursing in Nigeria.
Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to meet the highest standards of nursing education and is continuously updated to reflect the latest evidence-based practices in healthcare. Courses in the Department of Basic Nursing cover a wide range of topics, including:

Hands-on Learning
In addition to classroom instruction, students in the Department of Basic Nursing participate in hands-on learning experiences to reinforce theoretical knowledge and develop clinical skills. Our state-of-the-art simulation labs provide a safe environment for students to practice nursing procedures and patient care techniques before entering clinical settings.
Clinical Rotations
Clinical rotations are an integral part of our nursing programs, allowing students to gain real-world experience in a variety of healthcare settings. Under the supervision of experienced nurses and clinical instructors, students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a clinical setting, caring for patients across the lifespan.
